velocity
Velocity
Velocity is the speed of an object in a particular direction, therefore a vector quantity.
\[\text{velocity} = \frac{\text{change in displacement}}{\text{time taken}}\]
or
\[v=\frac{\Delta s}{\Delta t}\], where v = velocity, s = displacement, t = time
Combining velocities
Velocity is a vector quantity, therefore two velocities can be combined by adding them together.
