Thermodynamics
Thermodynamics is the study of how heat moves around in macroscopic objects. It is a generalization (or model) of extensive empirical evidence, which means that it is a "simplified", empirical description of a real system which is open to improvements as our knowledge progresses. It is to note that most the principles can also be derived from the kinetic theory of gases.
Thermodynamics deals with heat, work, and temperature, and their relation to energy, entropy, and the physical properties of matter and radiation. The behavior of these quantities is governed by the four laws of thermodynamics.
